Why is the price the same at every pharmacy?
The single exit price is set by the manufacturer under government price regulation and published by the Department of Health. Every pharmacy buys at the SEP and may add only a capped dispensing fee, so the medicine price differs only by that fee. Delivery and consultation fees are charged separately.
Can a pharmacy charge more than the SEP?
Yes, but only by a dispensing fee, and that fee is capped by regulation. The approximate maximum price in the tables is the SEP plus the highest fee allowed under the 2026 fee regulations, including VAT. Pharmacies may charge less.
