Editorial policy

This page explains how we research, write and update the information on Semaglutide Scorecard, and the rules we follow to keep it independent and accurate.

Independence

The site is non-commercial. We carry no advertising, have no affiliate relationships and receive no payment from pharmacies, manufacturers or anyone else for coverage. Pharmacies cannot pay to be listed, to be left out, or to change a score, and they do not see content before it is published.

Sources

We rely on primary sources wherever possible:

  • the public register of the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) for pharmacy registration and status;
  • the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) and approved package inserts for product registration and scheduling;
  • the Department of Health database of medicine prices for single exit prices;
  • each pharmacy's own website for delivery, prescription, support and returns information.

For news, we link to the original study, regulator statement or official announcement, and we say clearly when findings are early or have not yet been reviewed by regulators.

Ratings

Every pharmacy is scored on the same published scale, described on how we rate pharmacies. If a pharmacy does not state something on its website, it scores no points for that item. We keep a dated copy of each source so that every finding can be traced.

Writing and review

Content is written and checked by the site's Content Staff. We aim for plain, neutral language and avoid health claims. Nothing on the site is medical advice; see our medical disclaimer.

Updates and corrections

We recheck prices and pharmacy details regularly, and each page shows when it was last updated. When we fix a factual error, we record it on the corrections page. To report a possible error, email info@semaglutide.igc2016.org.
